5 and half weeks in

You know I seriously question the validity of taking a 7 week holiday in the summer. All fine for those who can spend the majority of that time doing something useful like travelling exotic locales or something else which will use up the time. But for those of us with only a normal amount of cash to spend, SEVEN WEEKS IS TOO MUCH! Perhaps I am affected by the fact that I love my job and cannot wait to get back to it, but these holidays have been hard for me. Being single can't help much either I guess. Anyway, having spent the last three days in the house alone (mostly) I am on the verge it seems of utter insanity! I can't focus on any one task, I can't get myself motivated to do anything useful around the house, and my diet has gone to shit! Thank God my birthday is coming up this weekend or I might go totally spare! I think there's a lot be said for having more holidays spread throughout the year of much shorter duration. It's the way forward people!

Anyway, here is a wee cryptid:

The King Cheetah:

African folklore had long described a different variety of cheetah than the one scientists were familiar with. This cheetah was a giant, and it had a totally different pattern on its coat than normal cheetahs. Like most creatures described in folklore, the king cheetah was the object of much ridicule and there were virtually no serious efforts to find out if it really existed, even though skins with the king cheetah pattern were known to exist.

Greetings

Well at last I decided enough people I know have blogs to make me feel sufficiently inadequate, so here is my own effort.
Don't expect much, I get easily distracted and once I'm back at work I'll have little time to update, but I will try my damned best!

To those that don't know me well (or at all), my name is Kieron (Kie for short) and I'm a Zoologist and Science Teacher from Sheffield UK. I currently work at The Kingstone School  in Barnsley, and I absolutely love my job - right now it is pretty much the centre of my life, and the school and the kids there mean the world to me.

I love many things: Animals and wildlife first and foremost, horror and Giallo films, horror and fantasy books, Call of Cthulhu Role Playing Games, Punk Rock, Oi!, Hardcore, spending time with family and friends, walking in the countryside. Most of all I simply love life and want to get the most out of it.

I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts, I can't promise they will always be bright and cheerful, but I hope they are always interesting.
